Curbside Freight Shipping Details:

We offer curbside shipping to all 48 contiguous states. Most furniture is in stock and shipped within approximately 2 weeks of ordering. Custom furniture (Custom stain options, custom fabric options or "John Thomas Select" items) can take between 8-10 weeks to complete.

You will be notified by our team as soon as your furniture leaves our shop. Furniture is typically in transit for 3 to 10 business days. Once the furniture is out for delivery, you will be contacted by the freight company to schedule a delivery window.

*Please note that sometimes these delivery time windows can span over several hours, so please be prepared to accept your shipment at any point in the time window given. If you are not able to accept your shipment within a reasonable amount of time (as defined by the freight company), the freight company may leave items on your doorstep.

To save you money, your delivery will be curbside. This means you will need to bring the furniture inside your home, uncrate/unpack it, and assemble it. Keep in mind that our furniture is often quite heavy, and you will almost certainly need help to bring your custom furniture inside from the curb. Richard & Sons is not responsible for any damage caused or discovered due to curbside delivery missing a delivery window.

It is your responsibility to thoroughly inspect your new furniture for any damage before signing for the package(s) or accepting delivery. In the very rare event that your furniture arrives damaged, please note any damage on the delivery slip before signing for it. In the unlikely event that your furniture is damaged in transit by the 3rd party freight-liner, Richard & Sons will determine the next steps in rectifying the issue at no additional cost to you by filing a claim with the shipping company, but we can only do that if you've noted damage on the delivery slip before signing for the furniture. Once you sign the delivery slip, Richard & Sons can assume no responsibility for damage found after delivery, so fully inspecting your furniture upon delivery is extremely important.

Please note: Furniture cannot be refused upon delivery if it does not fit through an entryway. It is your responsibility to ensure the furniture you order can fit in your home.

To reduce the cost of deliveries for all customers, your delivery is scheduled based on relative locations and drive times and cannot be modified. If you are not able to accept your shipment, the shipping company may be forced to leave the items at your doorstep. Please be prepared to inspect and sign for your furniture upon delivery. Delivery does not include the removal or moving of old furniture. Please make sure your delivery space is clear and ready for your new furniture.

White Glove Freight Shipping Details:

White glove delivery observes the same shipping terms as described above, but will include assembly of all items purchased, per your purchase receipt.

The delivery team is not responsible for clearing old furniture out of the way for either curbside delivery or white-glove delivery. It is your responsibility to make sure the area is clear for the team to bring in your items and assemble without obstructions. The team is also not responsible for the removal of packaging, although you may request it with the courier team at their discretion.

If you are not satisfied, you may return or exchange the item(s) subject to the policies set forth below. Delivery fees are non-refundable with the exception of a manufacturer's defect or transit damage.

Return Policy

For Richard & Sons tables- 14 days after delivery: Many of our pieces are crafted from natural materials. The beauty is in the natural variations, the irregular distresses, and the color fluctuations. These are normal characteristics that will not affect the performance of your piece and are not considered a manufacturer's defect. A 10% restocking fee and shipping fees will be applied for all returns and exchanges not issued for a manufacturer's defect.

John Thomas tables- Cannot be returned or exchanged, unless damage is reported from freight/shipping.

Custom chairs, including chairs with upholstery, cannot be returned or exchanged.

White glove assembly cannot be refunded once the service is completed.

In Case of Damage

It is your responsibility to inspect your product upon delivery. Any damage that occurs upon delivery must be noted on the delivery receipt and reported immediately. Any damage not noted on the delivery receipt will be considered to be customer damage and not warranted. If not reported within 14 days of delivery, the defects and variances will be considered "acceptable" and will not be accepted for return or exchange. We will work with you to resolve the issue to your satisfaction. If you choose to return a damaged item, the purchase price, taxes, and delivery fees (except white glove assembly) will be refunded.

Proof of Purchase

For any exchange, return, or service claim, proof of purchase in the form of your original receipt will be required.

In the rare event that your order is built inaccurately or is defective, Richard & Sons will replace the furniture and correct the issue. All of our items are built from natural materials, and some are designed so that it has a distressed and reclaimed look. Our finishes are applied by hand. Any characteristics of handmade furniture are not considered defects. Richard & Sons will also replace any items damaged in transit, as long as the damage is properly noted upon delivery per our instructions. Due to the high costs of packaging and freight charges, we are unable to offer returns or refunds on shipped orders for buyer's remorse.
